Bringing consistency to digital products

A set of building blocks reusable by the teams

We were five UI designers to create this wine cellar management app. Each of us participated in the development of the product's design system. Sharing the app's constituent elements enabled us to offer a unified language and structured framework that guide the team through the complex process of creating the app.

Components set and variables libraries

To achieve this, we've established fundamental design elements such as fonts, colour schemes, and icon sets. With this foundation, we then created more complex components like buttons, navigation bars, cards, and their corresponding interactions.

Visual identity of the app

I've developed this second app to gender texts correctly on my own. The design system sets the visual language, including the appearance of elements and the overall tone of the product, such as color, typography, icons and logo.

Time saving

The attention paid to creating a clear and orderly design system saved me a lot of time when designing the app. In practice, any change in font, color or even navigation elements became a breeze, as they were passed on to all my screens.

The secret of consistency

With this website made for a dance performer, I show how colours and icons convey meaning, buttons are implemented with a consistent size and shape. In short, the language is clear and understandable.

Building a product ecosystem

Both the simple and more complex design elements help keep the look and feel of the website and experience consistent. They make the ecosystem of the product under the principle of atomic design — from a single button to templates, layouts, and interaction patterns.
